Our Bon Dance at the temple is back for 2023! This year’s Bon Dance at Windward Buddhist Temple will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

Once again, there will be a Country Market inside selling WBT’s takuan, baked goods, kokedama plants, beaded bracelets, fabric bags, scrubbies, books, etc. And this year, there will be a Rummage Sale section with some Japanese porcelain items, clothing, toys, etc.

Last, but not least, the Jr. YBA of Honolulu will run a shave ice stand and we will have a food concession. WBT’s ono andagi (freshly made on site) and dinner plates with barbeque meat, hot dog, homemade potato/mac salad and WBT’s takuan, will be waiting for you. See you there!

• 5:00 pm: Country Market opens

Parking

Parking will be available across the street from the temple at Kailua Elementary School (lot will open at 4 pm and closes at 11 pm), as well as street parking around the temple grounds.

Bon Dance Practice

Bon Dance practice will be on Wednesday, July 5 starting at 7 pm, at the temple.
