Held in collaboration with Windward Mall, Windward Buddhist Temple, and Kāneʻohe Higashi Hongwanji, this annual Bon Dance is held in air conditioned comfort inside Windward Mall. Join us for food, festivities, and a Bon Dance around the WBT yagura in the mall’s Center Court.
Windward Buddhist Temple will have a booth featuring andagi, bitter melon namasu, takuan, and nantu (Okinawan Mochi). Framed Bodhi Leaves, Windward Buddhist Temple Bon Dance Fans, and Windward Buddhist Temple Bon Dance Towels are a few of the items that will be available for sale.
In light of the recent wildfire that devastated Lahaina and Lahaina Hongwanji Mission on the island of Maui, WBT President Dennis Tashiro announced that WBT will be donating the net proceeds this year from its Windward Mall booth to support Maui recovery efforts.
